July 2005: Mother tongue classes year end childrens' and parents' story-telling and party
Tam Tam Tales Trust, a story-telling company, and AYA, organised a day of story-telling and performances. The parents devised and rehearsed stories that they then enacted for the children. The children enacted stories and poems they'd written and learned on the day and throughout the year. The atmosphere was festive and everyone enjoyed a great day. The parents brought delicious traditional dishes they'd cooked at home and the day ended with food and a party.
We filmed the events and took some pictures on the day. Below are a selection of the photos.

The rabbit hides in his burrow, which he's made from straw.
Eventually he leaves to find food.
The fox, on the other hand, builds his house from snow, which melts when spring comes. So, while the rabbit's away, the wily fox enters his burrow...
... and refuses to leave.
The rabbit, upset, finds a bear to help him evict the fox.
The bear argues with the fox, who despite this, still refuses to leave.
Eventually the bear gives up and departs, sorry he's been unable to help the rabbit.
The fox tells the rabbit to mind his own business, so he goes out again, and this time finds a rooster. The rooster agrees to help, and the two make a plan.
The rabbit hides near the burrow, while the rooster sits in a nearby tree and crows, luring the fox out. Once he leaves the burrow, the rabbit re-enters and slams the door shut behind him!
