This is given through: - regular support visits, flexible to levels of need, at least three each week
- informal counselling (under supervision of the Education Youth Leader), with appropriate referral if needed
- advice and where appropriate, assistance in accessing services
- general health, including sexual health education
- assistance with accessing education and training at school or college, and ongoing support to maintain the placement
- lifeskills training (eg budgeting, cooking,)
- after care following move on
- encouraging young people to attend AYA’s health/social/sport activities for group support and to encourage development of peer networking
- support through asylum and immigration process

- Increased capacity for independent living
- Increased lifeskills
- Greater opportunities for fulfilling their potential through accessing education and training
- Increased confidence and self-esteem
- Reduced isolation
- Increased mental, physical, emotional and sexual health
- Reduced risk of substance misuse, sexually transmitted diseases, and criminal activity
- Greater integration with the host community
The project’s support is available to
- Young people aged 16 - 18 in care
- Care leavers

The support staff will have Albanian as their first language – other languages spoken by staff include Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Serbo-Croat, Gorani, French and Greek.
Floating support
The above support could also be offered as floating support to those already placed in accommodation by the local authority, but in need of extra services.
